Swing It, Inc. is a major manufacturer of golf equipment in Spain. Carlos, the SVP of development believes that Swing It’s market share could be increased with the introduction of a cut-resistant, longer lasting golf ball. The research group has been investigating a new golf ball coating designed to create a more durable ball.
One of the researchers voiced concern about the effect of the new coating on driving distances. Swing It would like the new ball to offer driving distances comparable to those of the current model.
To compare the driving distances for the two balls, 20 balls of both the new and current models were subjected to testing through 10 swings. The swings were performed with a mechanical hitting machine so that any difference between the mean distances for the two models could be attributed to a difference in the two models.
Carlos would like you to analyze the performance of the two ball designs. A research scientist is concerned that the ball coating may change performance after five impacts.
Develop an analysis and presentation for Carlos. Your work should include a statistical analysis and a graphical representation.
