Reflection Papers provide an opportunity for critical reflection and response on
Reflection Papers provide an opportunity for critical reflection and response on class topics and assigned readings that are essential to understanding the course and building knowledge on the study of women and gender. For the reflection paper, you are to select an article or essay from the “Reflection Paper Readings” folder on Canvas, read the article/essay, and write your paper based on what you read. You can also include additional sources (such as articles, books, videos, blog posts, etc.).
Prepare a reflection paper including the following:
A brief summary of the article/essay. The summary should include any key terms and definitions associated with the content (No more than 1 short paragraph)
A critical analysis of the article/essay (which should include information from the selected reading. Remember to cite your sources. This is NOT a summary!)
At least one discussion question
A reflection of how the question and overall analysis fit into the context of the class, and society (hint- answer the reflection question). This class is the introduction to women studies.
Reflection Papers should be typed in 12- point Times New Roman font, double-spaced with 1” margins, and include an APA cover page or MLA heading. They should be a minimum of 3 full pages and maximum of 5 pages in length. All sources need to be cited in-text and in an additional reference or works cited section, in APA or MLA format. The reference/work cited section/page and title/cover page will not be counted in the length requirements of the paper. Do NOT include an abstract! Reflection papers must be submitted as either a Microsoft Word or PDF document.
I have attached the article below, and the grading rubric, and anexample of what the reflection paper should look like.
