hort Story Research Paper CHECKLIST (This checklist should be viewed AFTER you completed your essay before turning the final draft in. These are some things to look for):
_____ Are the story and author named in the introduction? If the essay is about two stories, then both stories and authors should be mentioned in the beginning of the essay. Are the titles in quotation marks? Are the authors’ names spelled correctly?
_____ Is there too much plot summary? The majority of the essay should be an analysis of the story.
_____ Is there a thesis statement in the introduction? Does the thesis relate to the overall option you chose from the requirements?
_____Does the essay flow in a logical manner? One point should be developed at a time. Are you using transition words, and do you have clear topic sentences at the beginning of your paragraphs?
