Instructions: As you continue the research process, you want to reflect upon yourself as a researcher and arguer. Read 4.2 What Is An Argument? in your textbook and then answer the following questions. There are several questions for each number, make sure you thoroughly answer each question and/or statement. Think about a time when an argument you were in went poorly. What went wrong? What could have happened to make the argument better? What standards should arguers be held to when engaging in arguments? Have you ever believed something that you later found out was fake news or wrong information? Explain. What is the fundamental difference between fake news and alternative facts? Give some examples of alternative facts that get presented as fake news, or vice versa. Have you ever seen an example of a fauxtography? How do you think the manipulation of images affects our belief in visual content? How can writing a good proposition increase the quality of a debate or argument? Do you think these criteria could apply to other situations as well? How?
