For your Essay: 1) Think about the relationships discussed throughout the Introduction and Chapters 1 through 4 of Being Mortal. The book highlights the relationships between Alice & her family, Sitaram & his family, Felix & Bella, and Lou & his family. The family dynamics that are highlighted in these case studies will probably always remain relevant. Multiple doctor / patient relationships are also discussed. Dr. Gawande says these relationships have changed a lot in the past 25 years and will continue to change in the near future. 2) Describe two specific things that you learned about relationships in later life from reading the Introduction and Chapters 1 through 4 of Being Mortal. Separate your answers and number them 1 and 2 so that I can easily identify each learning that you are describing.
