Overview
Last week you viewed the Villa Health Disaster Recovery scenario and summarized the challenges facing the hospital, choosing the one that you considered most difficult. In this assignment, you will create a presentation to the hospital board that details compelling reasons to update the plan by evaluating areas for improvement.
Preparation
Review the Villa Health Disaster Recovery scenario and your work on the Week 6 activity as necessary.
Instructions
Considering the scenario, create a 10-12 slide (equivalent to about 10 minutes) PowerPoint presentation (with detailed speaker’s notes) designed to inform the hospital board of the importance of creating a robust Disaster Recovery Plan. It should address the following:
Describe areas of risk, including the specific nature of the risk, to the hospital if the plan is not revised.
Identify all primary stakeholders (internal and external) that should be considered or consulted when creating a disaster plan.
Outline the major items a comprehensive disaster plan should include with a brief description of why each is critical. Examples of areas are staffing, supplies, protocols, et cetera.
Choose the most important aspect of your disaster plan outline and do the following. (If necessary, make and state any assumptions that you have to flesh out your reasoning.)Justify the choice of the primary issue, including identifying the areas of significant impact such as budget, staffing, communications, et cetera.
Describe a manner in which the plan can be effectively communicated.
Explain all significant barriers to implementation.
