What, to him, are the options theSouth has in regards to race following Reconstruction? Which option does the South take, andwhat are its implications for the South? What are some of the results of Jim Crow in the South,and what do they tell us about the lives of Southerners in general? Do you feel that this booksufficiently conveys the origin and “career” of Jim Crow in the post-Reconstruction South, andwhy or why not?
