• 466 million people have a deafness and hearing loss (WHO, 2019)
• 37.2 million adults in the U.S. have hearing difficulties (CDC, 2006).
• 21.2 million adults in the U.S. have a visual impairment (CDC, 2006).
• 4.7 million children ages 3-17 have been diagnosed with Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the United States (National Center for Health
Statistics, 2006).
• 7.8% of youth in the United States ages 3-17 have been diagnosed with a learning
