Pick a natural disaster or human-made mass casualty event (e.g., hurricane, flood, earthquake; bombing, shooting). Title the paper accordingly.
Section heading: Disaster Type. Describe the type of disaster, its characteristics, how often it has occurred over the last number of years, and where (no more than two pages!). [9 points]
Section heading: Psychosocial Issues/Concerns. Describe the kinds of psychosocial issues/concerns faced by survivors and responders of this event. It might help if you focus on a specific population and/or a vulnerable group (e.g., children, older adults, special needs). Please make sure you include discussion about cultural factors. [9 points]
Section heading: Effective Intervention(s). What are 2 or 3 effective interventions in working with survivors of this disaster?
