As scholars, it is critical that we examine the rhetorical situation that surrounds the arguments we encounter on a daily basis. Last week I introduced rhetorical situation, appeals, strategies, fallacies, and refutations and rebuttals. You will now use this content and apply it in order to rhetorically analyze a Super Bowl advertisement. This activity is meant to help you practice applying rhetorical concepts before you draft your Rhetorical Analysis Essay.

Is the ad effective in convincing the intended audience? In fulfilling its purpose? Explain.
Replying to Peers & Circling Back (Due Sunday)
Your responses to the questions are due Saturday by 11:59pm. Once you’ve posted your responses, you will then respond to two peers by Sunday by 11:59pm.
Now that you have posted your responses to the prompts from Part 1, reply to at least 2 peers in either an audio, video, or written response, and address the following prompts in your responses:
Comment on your peers’ rhetorical analysis. Did you find similar strategies in the ad? Different ones? Comment on the examples that your peer provided for the strategies.
Comment of your peers’ overall evaluation of the ad and the extent to which your peer felt that the ad achieved its purpose.
Your responses to your peers should total at least 100 words each. To reply to a peer, click on the “Reply” link under their thread. Respond to two peers who have yet to receive a response by a classmate. If everyone’s response has been answered, respond to the ones with the least amount of responses. For example, if every student has at least one response, then respond to the students who only have one or two responses instead of those who have 5 or 6 already.
Then, circle back to any replies that you received on your own post, and respond to those as well.
