(pick one) OPTION 1: Describe aloud or in writing what one of your favorite mythic stories is, modern or old. It can be from a fantasy book, ancient myth, or a fairy tale. Then write 10-20 words each on what happens (the hero and/or heroine, the problem, and the solution or goal), who the main people in it are, where it happens, when, how, and why you think it happens (what do you think might be its purpose or results among people). Then try to describe in 10-20 words why it has special meaning to you. OPTION 3: Write or talk about one or more of the following questions: a. What are a few of the most popular and important myths in our culture in these times (likely, but not necessarily, on TV or social media)? b. Do you think any children’s stories are mythic? Why or why not? What are one or more examples that help prove your point? If you think they are mythic, then how are they? c.
