For my assignment we were told to find an adaptation of a fairy tale we read in class. I decided to do an adaptation of cinderella. The adaptation of Cinderella Im using is called “Fairy God Mothers are Everywhere” written by Donna Quattrone (I will attach the link to the story). My focus and what Im researching is how the line is blurred between reality and magic (liminal fantasy) in that particular story, I also dont have a research question yet, im hoping youll be able to come up with that based on this information. So far I have the 3 sources that I will provide that I want used in my essay. I will provide you with the annotated bibliography (with secondary sources inside) which will explain how I want the sources to be used. This essay shouldnt follow the 5 parapraph form (my teacher dislikes it). My teacher doesnt want an essay that has a thesis that is answered by 3 solutions but rather a format that looks like tthis :
intro, paragraph that gives a summary of the fairy tale, paragraph explaining what Liminal fantasy is and when its present in the story(including corresponding source), paragraph that explains how fairy god mothers are protrayed in literature (corresponding source), paragraph that contrasts and compares liminal fantasy (corresponding source), consclusion, and any other paragraphs that you think will fit.
Most of the information on the secondary sources and what I want you to use them for will be found in the final project annotated bibliography (attached). the word limit is 1800 words +/- 15%.
