Interview a person working as an advocate in a child and family studies field. Remember most people working in the field of child and family studies are an advocate in some way. You can choose someone from one of the community programs you are exploring for your service learning experience paper and presentation, but that is not a requirement. There only needs to be the connection of your interviewee participating in advocacy work in a field relating to child and family studies (Hint: most of your professors qualify-you may not choose me though). You may conduct the interview by telephone, Zoom, or face to face. Plan for the interview to take approximately 45 minutes to an hour. Through the interview, determine their professional background, what they do on a regular basis to serve children and families, what draws them to their profession, and ways that they work to advocate for children and families. Inquire about and research further into the specific organization for which they work. Write a 4-5 APA formatted paper of your interview. This is a synthesis of what you learned and not a transcript of the interview. The page length above includes a title page and reference page. Strengthen your paper by making clear connections to research and/or if applicable course content.
