You must have 7 slides to accompany your speech. An opening slide with your name and title of your presentation, a preview slide showing each main body point, one slide for each main body point, a summary slide, and a closing reference page slide in APA form that shows where you got your information from is best.
In addition to the “One slide per minute rule”, all slides must follow the “6/6” rule, no more than six bullets per slide with approximately 6 words for each bullet.
Each slide must have a heading (usually the main body point or speech section such as Preview, Summary, and Reference. Remember bullets are phrases not sentences and do not use any punctuation.
Make points in each bullet! Each “bullet” should be an informational phrase or brief point on its own and not a question or a single word.
Use contrasting font and background colors and small graphics. Keep your slides easy to read and follow, simple, clean looking, and professional in your style choices!
***If you use verbatim quotes, paraphrase from research or use graphics you must cite them parenthetically on the slide using the author/year format and on the reference slide!
