According to the empirical approach to establishing good, warranted, true (i.e., valid) knowledge about psychological functioning, we study the brain (and the interactions between the body/brain and the material world) to establish understanding of the mind. Provide two (2) examples from the lecture that support the usefulness of this approach. Be as detailed as possible in the description of the brain regions studied and how scientists have established consensus about the brain/cause-and-mind/effect relationships that support the validity of the knowledge we have about human consciousness.
