Assessment Content
of learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
Based on the achievement of learning outcomes 1, 2 and 3.
This assessment requires you to conduct a piece of research based on a topic that you will select in week 2 related to a geographical site and how to promote their unique culinary products and culture via a blog that you will create. In this work you need to fully focus on the topic that was agreed upon with your tutor but more importantly apply the concepts we have seen throughout the module. This research will culminate into a personal blog to be presented to your tutor and classmates in week 9/10.This research will mean that you need to read widely on the topic and to collect a range of references that will also underpin your work. You are advised to start working immediately on this project. Your blog should basically follow the following format:
• Title
• About me
• Aims and Objectives – what is going to be elaborated in the blog?
• Your recommendations for local attractions or places of interest to visit
• The design and user friendliness of your blog will be part of this assessmentcomponent
(see assessment criteria for detailed information)
• Recommend three options for places to stay – affordable, mid-range and luxury. Make sure
there is clear information on how to get there and what type of transportation would you
recommend and what budget is required (room prices etc.).
• Where would locals send you to eat? – follow the same format as the recommended options
for places to stay (3 options) and make sure there is a link between them (affordable
accommodation – cheapest food options, prices, how to get there etc.).
• Your presentation, design and your user-friendly blog will be part of this assessment
component (see assessment criteria for detailed information).
Your blog will be made on wix.com and should contain the content listed above but it canbe extended in imaginative ways if desired. It should be clear and concise with correct use of English and Harvard style referencing as needed. You will be given a virtual space to display your blog and will be expected to present your design and to answer questions from both your tutor and other students. For submission, you will paste screenshots of each section of your blog into a document and submit it via Blackboard.
