We’re aiming to design a bandage that can detect pathogens.
Our goal is to create a bandage that changes color when a wound becomes infected by Staphylococcus aureus.
We plan to achieve this using antibody-antigen binding system. In order to achieve this, we have to find a color change principle, when antibody detected Staphylococcus aureus, the color will be change.
The material we are using is hydrogel matric, simply add the polymer molecules to the solution with antibody.
The nature-inspired concept we are using is basically mimicking the immune system’s ability to recognize and respond to pathogens using biomimetic antibodies. By drawing inspiration from natural immune responses, such as antibody-antigen recognition and binding, we can develop a bandage that functions similarly to the body’s defense mechanisms against bacterial infections.
